Growth

Growth

Differentiating between summarizing and analyzing has always been tough for me. Typically, my papers go off course and I end up summarizing a piece when I should be analyzing it. Thanks to this English course I have definitely honed my skills. “A Shift in Community” is a great example of my critical thinking skills. This paper includes much more analysis then the rest of my writing, leaves the summarizing to a minimum, and supports my thesis. This paper demonstrates the growth I have made because it includes more of my own thoughts, and ideas, which is also an area I struggle with. A statement that demonstrates my growth, because it shows analysis, as well as my own thoughts is, “With things like social networking sites, email, and cell phones residents of a neighborhood no longer have to go next door to find a friend. Simply logging in can give a person access to hundreds, even thousands of friends which is lessening the importance of neighborhood communities.”
